Distressed CRE Deals Coming? April 19, 2010

With transaction volume of distressed assets well below expectation, eager buyers are left wondering when the “deals” will surface. For a number of reasons the anticipated tidal wave of discounted properties has not emerged.  In his blog Streetwise Robert Knakal, founding partner at Massey Knakal Realty in New York City, explains how federal regulators have allowed lenders and special servicers to avoid dealing with these problem assets. Robert provides some great insight on why so far the “Tsunami” has been a trickle and why we’ll see an increase in “deals” flowing soon.
